As a scientist, mother, and public servant, Nina believes healthier communities start with systems that treat people with dignity. That means investing in maternal and infant health, protecting survivors of sexual violence, improving access to care, and holding child welfare system accountable.

Nina’s record reflects that approach. She invested in implicit bias training for clinicians in maternal and infant care through Once Upon A Preemie because outcomes improve when health systems are evidence-based and equitable. She helped deliver support for a new GPHA community health center in Nicetown-East Tioga so residents can access care closer to home. She secured funding for human trafficking prevention, expanded survivor supports, protected immigrant crime victims, strengthened workplace protections, and fought for a permanent Child Welfare Commission.

For Nina, women and children are not side issues. They are the center of a city’s future. When Philadelphia protects mothers, babies, survivors, and families, it strengthens the economic and civic infrastructure every neighborhood depends on.
